Here I go.

I meaning, Amber, American and a 22-year-old journalist who's ready to feed the world the stories from the people who unfortunately, don't have a voice. Reporting is a great privilege. I plan to tell the stories through research, speaking to every living being I possibly can and have audiences hear what I have to say, trusting that I've done the best journalism possible.

Some journalism is written off as bias today, but I hope to be one of many to change this misconception. Everyone needs to know what's happening in the world around them, and I plan to share everything I find.

Tucson, Arizona is in the dust, literally and respectively as I know it to be my hometown, and one of the hottest and driest places in America. I graduated from The University of Arizona with my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Gender and Women's Studies.

After gaining some experience at KGUN 9 News (ABC affiliate) as an intern for a year and working as an apprentice at The Arizona Daily Star Newspaper, new challenges were next. Oh you know, like getting a Master's degree. It was time for me to move to a new place and gain new experiences in some place I've never been before. And a ten hour plane ride, I said hello to Great Britain.

It's my first time living away from my American hometown, Arizona. I took up a new address in Lincoln, United Kingdom - And the Brits of Lincoln have continually treated me with open arms three months into my journey.

A little English tea for the American at my BBC internship
I started with 15 months, and now have 12 left to obtain my Master's in Journalism from The University of Lincoln.

But just as much as I'm working hard towards my educational goal through reading McNae's British law books and getting up before light for my 7 am internship with BBC Radio Lincolnshire, travel is my ultimate priority.

I haven't made it too far from Lincoln yet, but thus far, I've seen some the sights in bustling London. Lincoln is just a two hour train ride away from London, and when time permits, you'll find me in that wonderful city.

I've also made it safely through the depths of English Channel, by Eurostar that is, to Liege and Antwerp in Belgium. Antwerp's 'Cathedral of Our Lady' was definite competition to the beautiful Lincoln Cathedral, but I'm always going to be a sucker for my new hometown's architecture. You can see the Lincoln Cathedral for almost every point in the city - such an amazing sight to see. Lucky doesn't begin to describe the opportunities I have across the pond.

Mom and I enjoying ourselves a day in London.
Brayford Pool - Lincoln, United Kingdom (Yes, that's my view every day and the beautiful location of my university!)
Lincoln's tree leaves. Arizona's seasons are hot, dry and hotter. Seeing these leaves really put the changing season in perspective!
Lincoln Cathedral, in all its glory.
Liege, Belgium - even the stepping stones have beauty.
'Cathedral of Our Lady' - Antwerp, Belgium
No wonder the cathedral took so long to build - #detail

Antwerp, Belgium - Dark chocolate Bishop, you are delicious.
